History

Semi Insights and Strategies is a boutique analyst firm that focuses on providing clients with a better understanding of the semiconductor industry with a specific focus on GPUs, CPUs, and adjacent technologies like FPGAs.   Founded in January of 2016, real-world experience is the cornerstone of what Semi Insights and Strategies brings to projects for their clients.

President

Douglas Stoakley

Doug is a global technology sales executive with 20+ years of sales and management experience - growing companies with revenues ranging from $2.5M to $6B- working with some of the most admired long-term brands in Technology. His career spans consumer electronics, PC Technology, semiconductor, gaming, mobile, wireless, and content businesses. Doug has particular experience in WW channel sales and marketing and a broad understanding of all aspects of running a business and bringing complex, multi-party solutions to market domestically and internationally.

As the Head of Global Sales, Channel GPU with AMD, Doug transformed AMD's business model from sell-in to sell-out, developing formal channel programs, infrastructures, and metrics-based performance indicators. He built a Global Sales and Marketing Team of category experts focused on owning every business element of the graphics segment driven by intense customer engagement.

Doug spent almost 12 years with NVIDIA where he was Head of GeForce GPU Sales, Americas and the Senior Director of Sales, Tegra and Mobile, Worldwide. There he grew regional handset and tablet businesses and GeForce consumer GPU businesses leading a variety of regional and global cross-functional teams responsible for design wins and business growth with leading Retailers, Etailers, OEMs, and ODMs and drove connections between OEMs, ODMs, Carriers, Content Providers, and consumer channels.

Most recently, Doug was the Chief Revenue Officer of June20; an enterprise software start-up omnichannel solutions provider where he was the business leader responsible for revenue growth, customer strategy, and the coordination of marketing and sales. 

He has deep expertise in competitive analysis, sales and marketing strategies, technology sales viability, and industry trends.  Doug is honored to serve as an Entrepreneurial Advisor at the University of Texas, Cockrell School of Engineering Innovation Center.
